You can file your 2011/12  tax return from 6th April 2012  - you still have until 31st January 2013 to pay any tax due, but at least you will know what your obligations are well in advance, meaning that you can budget for what you owe over 11 months. If you are due a tax rebate, now is the time to file, as HMRC processing time tends  much faster at this time of year – meaning that your rebate will be in your pocket much sooner than if you wait until the busy January rush.
